The Joint Action Committee, LASU Declares 7 Days Fasting And Prayer - Read Why

A seven-day prayer and fasting was yesterday declared by the Joint Action Committee (JAC), Lagos State University (LASU), to end the tenure of the incumbent Vice-chancellor of the institution, Prof. John Obafunwa.

The tenure of Obafunwa ends on Oct. 31. In a schedule entitled, “Timetable of Activities to Ward-Off Evil in LASU: Exit of Machiavelli’’, signed by JAC, LASU, a church service would be held on Oct. 25 at the Chapel of Light, while there would be a 7-day prayer and fasting program that would commence on Oct. 26.

A traditional service featuring all forms of traditions, ranging from Masquerade, Igunnu, Eyo and others would hold on October 29. The timetable stated that there would be a prayer session after Jumat Service on Oct. 30, and on Nov. 2, LASU Independence Day Festivities and Funfair would be held. Meanwhile, as at the time of this report, a banner at the Badagry and Iba gates of LASU, Ojo campus reads: “Count Down, Nine days to go, The End of Evil at Sight’’.
