IS ARSENE WENGER THE PROBLEM IN ARSENAL? Read how Wenger reacted to Arsenal's failed EPL season

Wenger believes second position is as equal as being 10th The Arsenal manager reacted as Spurs suffered a humiliating defeat to Newcastle to finish behind Arsenal yet again. Arsenal gazumped their fierce local rival Tottenham Hotspur to finish second in the league after their miserable loss to Newcastle. Olivier Giroud’s hat-trick helped the Gunners to leapfrog their north London rivals Spurs into second place in the Premier League table.

The Gunners victory, coupled with Spurs trouncing at the St. James’s Park by Newcastle, ensured Wenger’s men finish above their rivals yet again. Giroud’s close–range header handed his side an early lead, before doubling up midway through the second-half. But if you’re not first, you might as well be 10th or 12th. You might as well say first is good and the rest is rubbish. In sport, when you work in a football club you know that every win you have to fight and prepare more.

” The Frenchman concluded: “We want to win more. We want to be first. But as well, we have made over 70 points in the Premier League and it is not easy. You have to say Leicester have pulled off an exceptional win. They lost only three games. But we have beaten them twice. So you should look at all the other teams. We are not happy by being second but 18 other teams behind us would be happy to be in our position.”
