The A 30 year old man, one Hassan Maikudi, has been arrested by the Police in Oyo State, alongside five Fulani men suspected to be members of a notorious kidnapping and armed robbery gang who for years had terrorized Okeho and Iganna communities in the state.
Maikudi, led the gang to abduct his own father and collected a sum of N1.5 million as ransom to free him. Parading the suspects, Mr. Solomon Arase, the Inspector General of Police said some of the suspects fled into the bush when officers of the force invaded their hideout.He added that the police recovered the sum of N200,000 as well as several charms. The suspects are: Damanya Gambo, 30, Usman Saidu, 30, Abubakar Abubakar, 28, Abdullahi Mohammed, 35 and Usman Idris, 33.
