3 things President Buhari is likely to do while on vacation

President Muhammadu Buhari has written a formal letter in compliance with the Nigerian constitution stating why he would be away from the country and for what purpose. The president will be going on vacation.

The formal letter was read by the senate president who shared the news with the house of representatives. There are so many assumptions as to what the president will do while he is away.

The news of his absence was received with calmness even though some Nigerians wondered why the head of the nation will choose this time to go on leave. Some Nigerians also expressed total understanding at the president's decision to take a break.

Being at the helm of a nation like Nigeria could be tiring considering the things happening in the country. It is simply natural for one to take a break in order to have the right frame of mind to preside over delicate matters.

It is understandable that Nigerians are disturbed that things will go awry in the absence of the president but again, that is why the vice president is available. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will be the acting president in the absence of President Buhari.

Check out some of the things that the president is most likely to do while on vacation:

1. Medical treatment

The second time President Muhammadu Buhari went on vacation, it was for a medical checkup. This vacation was taken in June 2016 with the president going off for 10 days.

There are speculations that the president would go for medical checkup during his vacation again. Already, the president has left the country ahead of the stipulated date in the formal letter written.

2. Rest

The president is most likely to spend his vacation resting in order to prevent health failure. The reason why most people take time off work is to prevent breaking down.

According to Femi Adesina, the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, any man can fall sick. The president has worked for more than 5 months non-stop and he needs to take a respite.

Some Nigerians take more than the 10 days that the president has asked for when they want to go on vacation. But the position of the president is a sensitive one; he may not be able to take off the time in world but he is most likely to rest during this period that his vice is taking over.

3. Nurture himself back to health

Unlike the first vacation that the President Buhari took in London, this vacation is most likely to be devoid of meetings and conferences.

The president may engage in activities that will bring his body back to life and get rid of fatigue in the process. On this note, it is imperative for him to do things that will help him stay fit mentally and physically during this time.
