The chances of that happening are still good, with a deal for the Spaniard reportedly ‘very difficult’ this summer – but that isn’t reportedly putting off one potential suitor. According to Cope, Atletico Madrid have made Diego Costa their priority target this summer – with the Spanish giants looking to sign the forward to lead their line next season.
Diego Costa, of course, made his name at Atletico Madrid before moving to Chelsea, with the Spanish outfit seemingly seeking a reunion with their former forward.
For his part, Costa has been on fire whilst in the Premier League – quickly establishing himself as one of Europe’s best strikers. He has bagged 20 league goals so far this year, becoming a vital part of Antonio Conte’s Chelsea.
His departure would, of course, be bad news for Chelsea – given the Spaniard’s significance – and so the fans in the pub have begun drawing up a shortlist of potential replacements. For many, the Premier League’s top scorer – Romelu Lukaku – leads the way.
